WELCOME FROM DARREN MIDDLETON DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL ACADEMY
The creation of this independent international academy is a proud achievement as we understand how young players learn, develop and improve.
Our goal is to allow talented players the opportunity to grow in a challenging environment with the combination of our excellent educational qualifications, our unique football programme and the support to gain the FA coaching awards.
Lichfield City FC Football Academy are the 2019 & 2020 league champions and Midland cup winners.
Our students progress to either higher education or careers in the sports sector. Engaging the correct attitude, passion and positive mindset will allow individuals to progress into the professional game.
I have been playing/coaching and involved in football for twenty five years I am passionate football man and advocate of investing in young people.
For those players that are not hand-picked by professional clubs this academy programme will allow talented students the opportunity to reach their full potential through outstanding support, expertise and guidance.
Representing my country at u18 level and playing professional football at Aston Villa and Wolves provided excellent knowledge of how to develop young talented players. Gaining business management qualifications at university and maintaining professional education throughout my playing career allowed secure progression to a second career after football.
The Academy offers a professional learning environment with the aim of developing young people both on and off the pitch.
A newly laid state of the art 3G pitch will allow football development training sessions each day and with quality contacts at St George Park Burton to play football, the future of our students is exciting.
Professional football clubs from the UK and abroad have already made contact for competitive matches and the the selected students will play in a weekly league.
