Lichfield Academy made tough work of the away derby at the Burton Albion but were pleased to make it 3 wins in a row. Lichfield attacked from the start and Lewis,Shirley,Rainbow, Lika and Maxime all went close with good chances. The disappointment was evident and that shows how far this team has developed but on 33 minutes after a good passing move involving Lika-Rainbow scored and the team were relieved. Burton with a strong wind behind them offered long distance attempts however, jones in good form whitehouse,burns & aubury looked comfortable at the back. Skipper Ben was inspirational again back in midfield closing down oppenents and cutting out their danger.

Half time brought clear information we need to take our chances to enable us to relax and pass the ball. Maxime delivered with a well taken goal down the left & his tenth goal of the season. Lewis, rainbow continued to threaten however, as all derby games go Burton got momentum and fellows pulled off a great 25 yard save over the crossbar. However, Burton Albion could smell a goal and alack of concentration at the back enabled two quick goals and we were all square. Subs were required and those missed chances in the first half looked costly to the performance. Up stepped twinkle toes Blake and he was in the right place at the right time and struck home low and hard with 10 mins left.

Four games unbeaten and the team is starting to play that they dont want to lose their shirt with a good squad in place.
