The Lichfield FC Football Academy have displayed consistant football appearances and it is great to witness Lichfield academy stars emerging into bright young men.
Lichfield Academy 5v5 AFC Telford -Outstanding comeback from the team
Today the Lichfield Academy ended the year with a home game against one of the title favourites AFC TELFORD and it was a fantastic game. Lichfield took the lead with a sharp looking Joe. Who was a constant threat all afternoon and probably should of scored a hatrick. The game was open in the first half with both teams looking to score- top goal scorer in the league a Telford forward looked a goal threat and scored a first half hatrick. Telford 3-1 up lichfield Academy focused and bounced back with a delightful cross from Sansoni and mr consistant Alex jones scoring a powerful headed goal.

Lichfield Academy students have had a great start to their season
The Lichfield City football education academy has gone from strength to strength from the day the lads all received their match shirt from Aston Villa & England star Vassell. The lads have shown great commitment and passion to work hard at their studies and football and become a team. They have been underdogs in many of their games as a new team but sit 9th in the league of 30 teams and have had some great wins. Beating Ibstock 10-2 with 12 players showed real character and Max scored 5 with Joe a hatrick.
Blake nets the Winner against Burton Albion
Lichfield Academy made tough work of the away derby at the Burton Albion but were pleased to make it 3 wins in a row. Lichfield attacked from the start and Lewis,Shirley,Rainbow, Lika and Maxime all went close with good chances. The disappointment was evident and that shows how far this team has developed but on 33 minutes after a good passing move involving Lika-Rainbow scored and the team were relieved. Burton with a strong wind behind them offered long distance attempts however, jones in good form whitehouse,burns & aubury looked comfortable at the back.
Back to Backs WINS Lichfield Academy Winners!
A tough away trip in the league awaited Lichfield Academy on Saturday. The team started well and looked sharp on the counter attack with Max ,Lewis and Joey going close with chances. Robbie, Ben, Alex and Jack looked a good solid unit at the back. Harry and rainbow started well in midfield and a few hard tackles proved it was going to be a competitive game. 30 mins into the game top goalscorer lewis broke clear and slotted past the goalkeeper. 5 mins later good pasing play in midfield enabled Jordy to dribble down the right and make it 2-0.
Tamworth 2-4 Lichfield Academy DERBY WINNERS
A tough away derby was the match this saturday in the league and after a positive midweek draw at the top of the table in the college league, the lads were set for a tough game.
Lichfield did not start well and after only 10 mins of the game were 2 nil down and the home team had some momentum. After a positive teamwork and good preparation, it just goes to show its up to the players to mentally get right with their attitude and another learning curve was dealt.
Olympic Blind footballer supports the Academy students
125 caps for England, represented the country at the Olympics and completed his pyschology degree. A fantastic role model for our students to listen and learn from.
Darren Harris is a blind footballer and has a wonderful story to explain, shared great knowledge, support and guidance at the academy and im sure his book launch will be a great success.

A tough away trip to top of the table Moreton school in wolverhampton was wednesdays fixture and with a few squad changes the team pulled off a fantastic 2-2 draw.
Unbeaten Newcastle took their chances
Lichfield academy had a tough trip north to unbeaten Newcastle Town on Saturday. Playing in their new away strip it was a very cold day and with a strong wind down the pitch , Newcastle took advantadge quicly going 2 nil up with mistakes at the back. Alex and Ben looked in good form again and with the threat of Joey & Jordan up front it was not long before Joey pulled a goal back on the counter attack with a well taken finish.
Penalty Shoot-out WINNERS St Georges Park
We are always delighted to visit St Georges Park as our hosts are brilliant and the lads always are interested with the coaches that support them. Chelsea & West Ham academy coaches supported the students of the Lichfield City Academy to a penalty shootout win today. TJ with a great penalty before debutant Mitch saved the important sudden death penalty.
Winning two games and drawing one on the way to the final against other academy teams that are more established encouraged again what a great team spirit, passion and desire this team have to win and stay strong together.
WIN number two- Top of the league Lichfield Academy
Lichfield City Academy played two won two. Another quality performance today beating Newcastle Town 3-1. After another nervous start the lads went 1-0 down. But started to pass the ball and find their way in the game. Brandon looking a threat down the left and jordy addy playing his best game. Brandon equailising before half time. Newcastle looked a threat in the first half and were taking long shots with a strong wind behind them. Josh pulling off two wonderful saves.
