JORDAN LEWIS 2 GOAL HERO
Lichfield Academy players had a mixed fortune of results this week losing in the college league to a strong codsall school. However, at a well established Stafford Town club with a team that had been together for years the Academy produced a fantastic away performance. With captain Ben missing and good players Brandon, Charlie, Robbie still injured and others on the sidelines the team won 4-3 away from home. Reece Winter came back into the side after a lengthy break and put great effort in and scored with a powerful header from a corner. Joey shirley tapped in from great work from Rainbow and Jordan lewis looked sharp but calm throughout and produced a cool finish to take the first half score to 3-3. Mikey in the first half looked more confident and produced 3 fantastic stops that should encourage his progress. Alex, Jack, Ethan and captain Jacob impressed at the back at times with confident tackles and quality clearences.
We welcomed Harry back and at times showed his class with strong runs and passing ability. Thomas-James showed maturity in midfield and looked sharp and the team had good balance with his left foot passing. Max throughout was a constant threat and on a better day scored a hatrick himself. The second half moved teams pressed for the winner and the lads did their manager proud as several sub appearences occurred. Denis playing his part again for the team, Reece fitting in at centre half, Jordy battiling in midfield and rainbow looking to attack and set up quality play in midfield.
The stars were the team spirit and when Jordan lewis ran through with his desire to score again he was not going to miss. The team celebrated like they had won the cup- brilliant site. 4-3 away from home and in the final stages of the game mo came on to play his part. A special mention to Mo who warmed the goalkeeper, did linesman and then played left back for the team what an academy player. Well done lads on your desire to stick together and win.
