Lichfield City Academy-Reserves NEW 3G PITCH

Lichfield City youngsters entertained top of the table Coton Green FC reserves on the fantastic new 3G pitch who had not lost a game. The Young players were boosted with good solid performances from Centre half Alex & Jon Goalkeeper who were looking for minutes from the first team.

Lichfield City were enjoying the new pitch and surroundings passing the ball well and looked solid in the first half and in control of their game. Concentration was key and Coton Green FC were frustrated in the first half as Lichfield City shape of the team looked strong. Ben providing great energy in midfield and Joe & Ryan were starting to locate spaces to create though Dishon was lacking quality service as marked by 3 defenders. Oli, Alex, Jacob were impressing at the back, with Mo disciplined in the midfield supporting others.

The second half Wes, Lewis & Spittle all had chances but Coton Green spolied the opening of the 3G pitch with a 3-0 win. Simple mistakes from set pieces provided momentum to the opposition but Lichfield City lads did not drop their heads and performed really well. A few injuries occurred which will need a couple of weeks rest. But with two clean sheets and two wins at u18 level this week, the performance in the reserves was a positive display as lads were fatigued.
