Lichfield City Academy Well Done

The Lichfield City Academy team have had a great season of success and there is more to come over the next month. The team reached two Q-Finals of the cup at u18 level and finished top ten in the Saturday league from 30 teams. The midweek league they are top wth one week to go and are guaranteed runners up spot. It is a fantastic season for their first season together and the standards have been set for next year to improve. On the pitch they have to understand each others game and in the classroom become team mates- this all takes time in a challenging environment of u18 football at a academy studying higher education.

The success of the group is as a team they have learned to win games, they have shown great desire, courage and will to learn new playing positions and they have listened to instruction on developing as players to progress into adult football. Nine students have passed their FA football coaching level 1-2 badges which is encouraging progress for future sports careers.

LICHFIELD ACADEMY 2017
The Lichfield Academy have finished the season always competing in all games and their fantastic wins against Burton Albion, Romulus, Tamworth in local derbys and established Colleges, Private Academys and non league sides was great achievement for the development of these players to ensure future confidence.

All players have shown great potential, success and performance at different times during the season however, Alex Jones has had a wonderful season with his consistency of performance and playing different positions. Ben Mortiboy as skipper has maintained great desire and will to improve and support the team on a weekly basis. Jordon Lewis scored 35 goals and had a fantastic season. Other top goal scorers Joe Shirley, Maxime Chauvell, Brandon Smith and Jordy Addy have all contributed to the team and played some awesome games.

The Real Madrid tour was a fantastic experience for the Lichfield City Academy players and the consistant vists to Wembley and St Georges Park have aided the development of the team. Creating memories and friendships is the aim of the Academy.
