Pre-season is never easy for any football player but iv been impressed with the attitude, behaviour and effort from the new players and existing Lichfield City FC academy stars.

A few visits to SGP have inspired the group with elite coaching under the watchful eye of 40 league football coaches/scouts is a nervous environment for some, but these players embrace the challenge to become better players. Thankyou to my friends in the game for the consistant support.

The first game of the season witnessed the new team play very well away at Eastleigh Hanley as a replacement squad for the first team. The U18 lads did not let themselves down and considering the opposition had 5 previous pre season games, a 2-1 loss was a good performance. Jordan captaining the side and scoring on his first appearence as a player. Well done baller and all the lads.

A few more tough fitness and technical sessions await the lads but they are looking stronger everyday and there are some exciting games planned before the lads get treated to an exEngland international player to deliver their match squad shirts for the season and we start the big kick off.

Probably the best academy in the world. I LOVE THIS GAME.
