Lichfield City FC Academy-We love this game..

The Lichfield City Academy have enjoyed many experiences to the start of their football and education year 2017-2018. Training with the elite FA england coaches is always a pleasure for the academy and the learning for all is fantastic. Its challenging work for the lads as often its 3-4 hour sessions of technical-tactical and game awareness, which physically and mentally developers the players learning. Performing infront of the camera and the watching eye of professional coaches is also a responsibility and tests the Lichfield City Academy social and mental strengths.

The latest visit allowed brief awareness of the England national teams ladies perform and preparation for their World Cup qualify verses Russia. A great team spirit was evident from the ladies and a depth of talent in the group. It was appealing to witness their organisation before a big game.

Understanding GPS elite technology was a fun and rewarding afternoon and the Lichfield City Academy players had great experience working with premiership fitness coaches and showcasing the equipment in front of the buying of national and premiership clubs. Catapult looked after the team and we wish them great success with the launch of products.

The new 3G pitch is close to completion and the team have showed great attitude getting on with training at temporary facilities. Its meant many away games but the team go into a busy schedule with lots to play for and the squad will be needed to maintain the successful start they have shown together.

They have commenced their education timetable and it always takes a few weeks to organise energy levels with mixing the football times after only playing football pre-season. A challenge accepted by the lads as they have the desire and determination to ensure its the best year of their young life on and off the pitch before we tour abroad at the end of the season together.

Its always good to talk with ex-professional footballers and having Darius Vazzell ex-England Villa,Leicester & Man City forward was a good experience for the team and a treat to receive their personal match shirt as a gift from the academy.

This years group have the competitive national college league and midweek midland floodlit-FA YOUTH CUP to compete in aswell the development to perform and test their ability in reserves standard on a saturday. Some academy players have the desire to represent the Staffordshire County u18 team, some the first team and some to progress their cv to ensure they are in contention for a higher standard of football in adult leagues next year.

Al the team will have maximinum support and opportunity lets see how they perform together and progress their career.

The best Academy in the World-probably.
