Lichfield City Football Academy go 2nd in league & reach Q-Final
Lichfield City Academy have started 2017 with two great wins. The first on Monday night the lads played great patient football winning 4-0 away at Tipton to reach the cup Q-Final. Jordan lewis and Denis Lika scoring two each in the second half and both looked sharp up front. Charle and Harry played magnificent in midfield and Harry was man of the match. They have both added real quality to the team with their passing skills. Mikey got the clean sheet the lads had demanded and looked confident in goal. Alex, Whitehouse,Mortiboy and Robbie are starting to create a solid defence line with the hardworking MO, Jacob and Jordy Gray looking to keep a shirt. Max, Jordy, Blake and Brandon are all fighting for a position in the team and are all adding great quality when required and showing good skills. It is good to see the four of them performing well. Lichfield Academy are looking a strong team at present and look forward to the Q Final match.
Two days later the Lichfield City Academy players turned their attention to a tough game in the College league and won 6-3 in terrible weather conditions. 1-0 down at HT was tough to take as the team had defended well and on the counter attack lewis, denis and Joe & Max all had good chances. An encoraging team talk and utilising the subs correctly the team responded in the second half and scored 6 goals. Lewis scoring a hatrick taking his total to 21 for the season. Rainbow scoring 2 goals which is much needed for his confidence and Joe scoring his 11th of the season. Mo played 90 mins and put in some good positional play and close marking.
Sansoni added value to the team with his energy and great left foot. Robbie looked comfortable in goal considering he is a CH. It was pleasing to see Jordy put in a good performance with Charlie in midfield. TJ needed the game to get match sharp and the character shown by Lichfield City Academy players was fantastic to witness on a poor pitch. Mr consistant Alex played well again infront of his girlfriend and the skipper looked defensively really good at the heart of the back 4. Well done to the team who went 2nd in the league.
Four great games ahead for Lichfield City Academy in the next 10 days. Lets wish them well and hope they can keep their winning run going. Thats 5 wins in their last 8 games.
