12 Lichfield Academy players and no goalkeeper you would think the team would be under pressure. But these 12 players have great attitude, desire and professional approach to football. A beautiful sunshine day on a good pitch allowed this team spirit to florish. A new formation was put in place and Alex, Jack & Jordan Gray showed fantastic defending ability to marshall their team and midfield player harry stepped into goal and looked brilliant with his postitive approach to ensuring the game flowed and was positive in all his thoughts.

Skipper Ben lead by example & with his new boots ensured the team were on the frontfoot and compact as a defence. At times playing some great balls forward. Jordy, Denis Ethan, & Joey were brilliant in their shape, working hard for the team and playing at times beautiful football passes. Lewis & Max were a constant threat for the team playing to score, linking play and enjoying their football being creative. HT 3-1 & with a positive team talk of controlling the game, staying organised & working hard for each other, the second half brought great excitement and discipline. 10-2 winners in the teams 3rd game in the league makes great room for improvement. Max scoring 5, Joey 3, denis 1 and Jordan Lewis 1 were all talented with their goals and chances they made for each other.

Even Alex made a fantastic run forward and nearly scored with a sixty yard run. Mo took his appearence in goal and after only 1 minute pulled off a flying safe to the teams delight. He even provided a smile to the camera it was that good. Mo carried on being a leader and marshalled his defenders. Ibstock to be fair provided two good goals but could never rest with the energy, strength and fitness of Lichfield Academy players. One of the best u18 youth performances iv witnessed as so much quality and football play, understanding the game was evident. Standards have been set and we wish the lads success next week to stay top of the college league and push in the u18 league. Well done lads.
