A tough away derby was the match this saturday in the league and after a positive midweek draw at the top of the table in the college league, the lads were set for a tough game.

Lichfield did not start well and after only 10 mins of the game were 2 nil down and the home team had some momentum. After a positive teamwork and good preparation, it just goes to show its up to the players to mentally get right with their attitude and another learning curve was dealt.

The Lichfield lads had believe and passion and we know we have a strong winning mentality. Alex & Ben at the back again played their part with timely defending and whitehouse looked match sharp with good reading of the game and passing. Joey and jordan lewis went close and perhaps should of scored one each befor a brace from star striker lewis pulled the team level. Harry looked fit in midfield and threatened the opposition with good energy levels. Mo filling in at right back put some dangerous set pieces in the box and it was good to see blake gain some valuable minutes. Denis looked sharp and is turning into a key player for the team. Second half and after some organisation at half time the subs made an impact with max scoring from the left wing and with his pace hurt the opposition. Lewis grabbed his hatrick and quickly the lads were 4-2 up and looked a constant threat all second half with, joey, max,harry,lewis and TJ all going close.

When the 11 players all start well this is a strong academy team. Jordy gray turned in a positive performance at the back and looked good with Robbie who returned to the fans delight with a solid perfomance after a lengthy time off. Fantastic team spirit, passion and enthuisiasum shown by the lads again and with several first team players missing the academy looks a strong squad going foward. Great result lads.
